Why do bad things happen to good people?

  • Satan’s Limitations
    • God establishes some boundaries
      • Satan is not omnipotent
      • He will do all he can to push those boundaries
  • He goes right to work!
    • Four messengers appear – one after the other
      • “You’ve lost your sheep and servants”
      • “You’ve lost your oxen, donkeys and servants”
      • “You’ve lost your camels and servants”
      • You’ve lost your children
        • The very children that Job had offered sacrifices for while they were doing the exact thing he had worried about for them.
      • Job didn’t have the “Book of Job” to prepare for this, and we often times have no advance warning
  • Job’s Faith gave him strength
    • He released the situation
    • He acknowledged God’s greatness
